I was born in Hamburg in 1958 and live nearby in the Lüneburg Heath area. I studied law, am married and have three sons and three grandchildren.

My Lions roots date back to 1977 when I joined the LEO Club Hamburg. In 1989 I was founding president of the Lions Club Hamburg-Hammonia, the first mixed club in District 111-N. Since then, I have been working in the District Cabinet. I served as district governor 2002/2003 followed by various positions on district and multiple district level.

I served as Chairperson of the Host Committee of the LCICon in Hamburg 2013, so far one of the most inspirational and personally gratifying Lions experiences. The following year I was elected as council chairperson 2014/2015.

At various LCI Leadership Seminars, I was faculty including Group Leader for DGE Training in the years 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

I am also a strong supporter of LCI’s long-standing cooperation with Special Olympics as president of the regional association Special Olympics Hamburg, preparing the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin.

Currently I am candidate for the position of International Director 2022-2024 and look forward to serving on the LCI Board of Directors where I would gladly represent the Constitutional Area IV.
